Without your knowledge and enthusiasm that you passed on to us we would not have had such a fab birth. Thank you so much.

Preparing for Birth

Birth Preparation sessions enable you, and your birth partner, to have an informed and confident approach to achieving a straightforward labour and birth.  These sessions will supplement the ante-natal care available in the NHS. Classes are suitable for first time parents and for those who would like to change or enhance their birth experience.

Preparing for Birth provides useful information and practical techniques to help you:

  • Develop your understanding of the stages of labour, the journey your baby will take and how you might feel and behave at each stage of labour.
  • Experience and practice birth positions and movements to keep you mobile and active and encourage your baby into a good position.
  • Explore ways in which your partner can provide practical and emotional support.
  • Understand how massage and acupressure points can provide effective pain relief, support and relaxation during labour.
  • Use sound, movement and breathing to help you let go and respond to contractions
  • Learn relaxation techniques that will help you stay calm, cope better with pain and conserve energy.
Birth Partner

Birth partners have a very valuable role to play in labour and these sessions help partners be involved in the preparation for labour and provide the skills for partners to participate in and provide active support during the birth.

Preparing for Birth is suitable from 32 weeks and will complement any other ante-natal classes you are attending.

Group Workshops
Workshops run on a regular basis throughout the year and group size is kept small to ensure that you receive individual support and attention whilst at the same time meeting other expectant parents. For more information on workshops please contact me direct or follow the link. The Natural Health and Fertility Clinic, Whitchurch.

Birth Preperation Session

Individual sessions
Birth Preparation is also available as individual sessions which can, if you prefer, be enjoyed in your own home. This can be a good option if the timing of workshops is not convenient or if you simply want to focus on yourself and your birth partner.

These sessions are a great way for partners to feel more involved and for you both to spend time preparing in a supportive relaxing environment, for labour and the birth of your baby.
